Stephen Stills new band: The Rides

A new kind of "super band" has emerged and Stephen Stills knows is leading this new trio.  The new band consists of three-piece blues-rock group named The Rides, and is an extremely interesting group of collaborators.

Stills, who has been a member of Crosby, Stills & Nash for decades plays along with Electric Flag keyboard player Barry Goldberg and blues guitarist Kenny Wayne Shepherd on The Rides’ first album, ‘Can’t Get Enough,’ which is set to released on July 30. The Rides are set to hit the road starting this September as well!

The new album features four co-written originals, a few covers, and a vintage, previously unrecorded Stills treasure, "Can't Get Enough" which was sparked by the now-epic 1968 album Super Session, which featured Stills on guitar and the late Mike Bloomfield.  The Rides bring a memorable and iconic American musical styling into the 21st century, and Stills calls the new trio "the blues band of my dreams."

Recently, ‘Rolling Stone’  magazine had published an exclusive premiere of the song ‘Word Game,’ from the album.  Shepherd was emphatically thought of as “Classic Stephen and all that he stands for."  Stills was still a little reluctant to declare victory of the songs release, saying that “It probably could have used an extra day of practice, but because [drummer] Chris [Layton's] groove is so good, we chose to go with what we had.”
