Hot new band: Fitz and the Tantrums

Fitz and the Tantrums are a hot new band that are really starting to become popular. Their song, Out of My League, is incredibly catching and is picking up lots of airtime on alternative music channels. 

The group an American neo soul/indie pop band hailing from Los Angeles, first started back in 2008. Their first studio album, Pickin' Up the Pieces, was launched in August of 2010.  The band has garnered critical praise and reached the top seed spot on the Billboard Heatseekers chart.  Fitz and the Tantrums are labeled as a "band to watch" in an April 2011 review in Rolling Stone magazine. They have performed on shows like Jimmy Kimmel Live!, The Tonight Show, and Conan with their hit single "MoneyGrabber", and are currently touring with Bruno Mars. 

The band got at least part of the name from lead singer and keyboardist Michael Fitzpatrick.  The Tantrums include Noelle Scaggs on vocals and percussion, James King on saxophone, keyboard, percussion, guitar and flute (what?!), Joseph Karnes on bass guitar, Jeremy Ruzunma on keyboards and John Wicks on drums and percussion.
