Disney on Ice

Disney on Ice is an extremely popular touring ice show for the younger crowd  produced by Feld Entertainment under agreement with the Walt Disney Company.  There are five different tours going on now, each with their own different theme: Rockin' Ever After, 100 years of Magic, Let's Celebrate and Princesses and Heros and Passport to Adventure.

Originally, the the productions began in 1981 as the name "Walt Disney's World on Ice".   In 1998, the name was officially changed to "Disney on Ice."  Right now, there are eight productions and touring companies at a given time and perform all over the world.

Since the opening in 2006, Princess Wishes tells shortened versions of the stories of popular Disney Princesses and heroic characters, like, The Beast, Belle, Snow White, The Prince, Jasmine, Aladdin, Princess Aurora, Prince Phillip, Cinderella, Prince Charming, Ariel, Prince Eric, Rapunzel, Flynn Rider, Tiana and Prince Naveen and Tinker Bell who acts as the the presenter of the show, and Mickey Mouse is known to show up between acts.

100 Years of Magic got its start in 1999, is also known as The Magical World of Disney on Ice. The show has scene many changes, most recently, in 2005, where characters from Finding Nemo, Lilo & Stitch, and The Incredibles are also featured. The show features over 65 Disney characters are in this show.

For the new Rockin Ever After, there are many twists on fairytale fun.  Some of the most popular Disney characters compete to be the next superstar in comical segments.  Featured princesses include Ariel, Rapunzel, Belle, and Merida from Disney Pixar's Brave in her ice debut.

Starting in 2009, Let's Celebrate! is a compilation show known as "One big colossal party on ice!"  Throughout the experience, the show consists of a Halloween haunt with Jack Skellington, a winter wonderland with Mickey and Minnie and quite a few of the Disney Villains, a "Very Merry Unbirthday" with Alice and a royal ball with the Disney Princesses. Princess Tiana also makes her debut in this show.

The longest currently running show is the Passport to Adventure tour, which opened in 1995. Passport to Adventure has gone through four major overhauls and tells the story of Mickey and Minnie on an adventure though parts of Under the Sea, Neverland, Hawaii, London, and Africa.
