Drake was born on October 24, 1986, in Toronto, Canada. His father is an African American musician from Memphis, Tennessee, while his mother is a Jewish Canadian teacher. Drake attended Forest Hill Collegiate Institute, where he developed an interest in acting and music. In his early days, he would perform at local bars and clubs in Toronto, slowly building a following.

Drake's breakthrough came in 2009 with the release of his third mixtape, So Far Gone. The mixtape featured hit singles such as "Best I Ever Had" and "Successful," which caught the attention of music industry heavyweights such as Lil Wayne and Kanye West. Drake signed with Lil Wayne's Young Money Entertainment, and the rest is history.

Drake's debut album, Thank Me Later, was released in 2010 and debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. The album was a commercial success, and it established Drake as a major force in the music industry. Drake has since released several critically acclaimed and commercially successful albums, including Take Care (2011), Nothing Was the Same (2013), Views (2016), Scorpion (2018), Certified Lover Boy (2021) and Her Loss with 21 Savage (2022)

One of the things that sets Drake apart from other artists is his ability to seamlessly blend different genres and styles. He is known for his unique blend of rap and R&B, and he is equally comfortable singing and rapping. Drake's music often deals with themes of love, heartbreak, and personal growth, and his lyrics are introspective and vulnerable.

In addition to his music career, Drake has also made a name for himself in other areas. He has acted in several films and television shows, including Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues and Saturday Night Live. He has also launched his own fashion line, OVO (October's Very Own), and his own liquor brand, Virginia Black.

Drake's influence on the music industry cannot be overstated. He has won numerous awards, including four Grammy Awards, and he has broken several records. In 2021, he became the first artist ever to debut three songs in the top three spots on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. He has also been credited with popularizing the "Toronto sound," a subgenre of hip-hop that incorporates R&B and electronic music.
