Farm Aid 2013

It was a couple months ago that the line up for Farm Aid 2013 was announced.  Once again, there will be another amazing line up including country icon Willie Nelson and fellow Farm Aid board members Dave Matthews and Neil Young.  Other performers include Jack Johnson, Amos Lee, Lukas Nelson, Kacey Musgraves, Toad the Wet Sprocket and a few others. Farm Aid will take place on Sept. 21 at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.

Farm Aid is an all-day music and food event that raises funds for family farmers and also raises consciousness of the value of locally grown and organic foods as a very possible alternative to corporate farming. Among the festival features include Homegrown Concessions, showcasing organic, local,  humanely-raised, sustainable family farm ingredients. Festival goers have the opportunity to meet farmers, participate in hands-on food and farm activities, and educate themselves about the ways family farmers enrich the soil, protect the water supply and grow the economy.

Executive director of Farm aid, Carolyn Mugar, said, “The Farm Aid benefit concert takes place each year thanks to the generosity of artists who donate their talent to raise awareness about the crucial need we have for family farmers on the land. We are thrilled to have an eclectic lineup this year that includes returning artists, as well as artists new to the Farm Aid stage. Together, Farm Aid concertgoers and artists are changing our food system!”
