The Festival Supreme by Tenacious D front men; Jack Black and Kyle Gass and is the first ever festival of comedy, music and musical comedy acts. This epic festival will take place on October 19th at the Santa Monica Pier close to Los Angeles.
Jack Black said about the show, " “I guess it’s the same reason people climb Mount Everest. “The answer is, because it was there. You know what was there? An empty hole, waiting to be filled with comedy rock.”
There are a total of 25 artists set to perform including Hannibal Buress, Tig Notaro , Garfunkel & Oats and the Gregory Brothers and rare festival performers like Eric Idle and Adam Sandler.
Also to be included at the festival is Mr. Show Experience, whose founders, Bob Odenkirk and David Cross, who really put Black and Gass on the map.
Adam Sandler is on the bill "as a favor", says Black.
Black has in his mind that Festival Supreme will be a Los Angeles-only event, for now because he says "That's where all the comedians are anyway." Eventually, if there's enough interest and talent, there could be worldwide shows.
