Smashing Pumpkins Announce New Double-Album Cyr Album

Not one to waste a pandemic quarantine, Billy Corgan and the Smashing Pumpkins were busy at work.  In August they dropped two new tracks titled, “Cyr” and “The Colour of Love.”  Now, in addition to the tracks, the band has released information about their 11th studio LP which shares the title “Cyr.”  This is a lengthy 20-track double album that will arrive Nov. 27 via Sumerian.  See the cover art and track below.

“Cyr” and “The Colour of Love” are the first Smashing Pumpkins new music in over two years.  Recorded in his hometown of Chicago, Billy Corgan produced the album.  Fans can also look forward to hearing founding members James Iha, Jimmy Chamberlin, and longtime guitarist Jeff Schroeder on the album.  I gotta say I still miss D’arcy though.  She was phenomenal.   Smashing Pumpkins last released a studio album in 2018, “SHINY AND OH SO BRIGHT, VOL. 1 / LP: NO PAST. NO FUTURE. NO SUN.”

Fun fact:  we’re massive Smashing Pumpkins fans in our household.  When we got married in 2007, our first dance song was to “Luna” from the Siamese Dream album.  It’s a lesser-known song, but still amazing.  Hear it below:
