Violent Femmes and Echo & The Bunnymen Team Up for Summer Tour

Without doubt, probably the greatest live show I’ve ever seen was Echo & The Bunnymen at the Metro in Chicago. *  Much to my excitement, they will be heading out on tour again this summer with the Violent Femmes for a co-headlining North American tour.  This 11 city tour will kick off July 12 in San Antonio, TX and will wrap up July 25 in Washington D.C.  They will also head to Houston, Nashville, Atlanta and Orlando among others.  The 2 bands will alternate closing each night.  Before this tour kicks off, the Violent Femmes will have their own 10 city tour in June and early July, stopping in Denver, Seattle, Reno and San Diego.

The Violent Femmes will continue to support their latest album, ‘We Can Do Anything’ which was released a couple years ago in March of 2016 via PIAS America.  It is their ninth studio album and most of the songs on that album were written by eccentric frontman Gordon Gano.  The Violent Femmes got their start back in 1983 with a self titled album that has seen been certified Platinum by the RIAA. Current members include Gordon Gano, Brian Ritchie and John Sparrow.

See below for all upcoming Violent Femmes shows:

*The other contenders were Zac Brown Band at Wrigley, Smashing Pumpkins at the Metro (love me some Metro) and O.A.R. at a backyard frat party in the early 00's.
