Bob Dylan Announces ‘Triplicate’ 2017 Fall Tour

Ohhhh!!! This is a big one!!  The legendary singer, songwriter, activist and voice of the 60’s revolution, Bob Dylan just announced that he will be hitting the road in fall of 2017 in support of his newest album, ‘Triplicate.’  This is a 21 date tour and will kick off Oct. 13 in Valley Center, CA and will wrap up Nov. 16 in Boston, MA.  He will also visit Las Vegas, Detroit, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., and more.  Special guest Mavis Staples will join him on tour.  This tour will pick up where his summer tour, ‘Never Ending Tour’ left off.  Catchy, eh?

Bob Dylan released his newest album, ‘Triplicate’ earlier this year in March of 2017 via Columbia Records.  It is his thirty-eighth (!) studio album.  His 2016 album, ‘Fallen Angels’ and his 2015 album ‘Shadows in the Night’ were a celebration of Frank Sinatra’s work.  Dylan is quick to say they are not covers though. Dylan explained, “I don’t see myself as covering these songs in any way. They’ve been covered enough. Buried, as a matter a fact. What me and my band are basically doing is uncovering them. Lifting them out of the grave and bringing them into the light of day.”  In 2014, Columbia Records and Legacy Recordings released a new six-disc 138-track collection, ‘The Basement Tapes Complete: The Bootleg Series Vol. 11’, made up of Dylan’s rock tunes made throughout the years restored from their original tapes.
