Green Day, Weezer and Fall Out Boy to Team up for 2020 Hella Mega Tour

Updated 9/11/2-18-

As someone recently remarked on the announcement “It’s Like MTV’s Campus Invasion from the 90’s all over again!” I can think of no better description.  Crack out your platform flip flops, saggy jeans and eyeliner: Green Day will be teaming up with Fall Out Boy and Weezer for an intense 20-city Tour next year.  The Hella Mega tour will kick off July 17, 2020 in Seattle, WA and will wrap up Aug. 29 in Philadelphia, PA.  They will also stop in Los Angeles, Dallas, Miami, Atlanta, Chicago, Detroit, Washington D.C., New York City, Toronto and tons more.  Special guests on tour will be The Interrupters.  Green Day last toured in 2016 for their Revolution Radio Tour with special guests Against Me! and Catfish and the Bottlemen.

On top of the tour announcement, Green Day dropped the news of a new studio album, “Father of All…” which will be released on Feb. 7, 2020 via Reprise/Warner.  It will be their 13th studio album.  Their previous album, “Revolution Radio” was released in 2016 and climbed to #1 on the Billboard 200.  At the beginning of 2019, they also released their Woodstock 1994 performance on vinyl which contains all 9 songs along with the audio of the ensuing mud fight.  I remember watching it on MTV.  Ah, memories.  They got their start way back in 1986 and have since won 5 Grammy Awards and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2015.
