Aziz Ansari Ready to Reclaim his Stand Up Comedy Career

It has been a garbage year for Aziz Ansari.  In January, he was accused of sexual misconduct via a blog post ::eyeroll::  From everything written and said, it genuinely just seemed like a bad date.  At any rate, I support Aziz, and now he’s ready to get back into the comedy scene.  He’s already performed a few unannounced shows at the Comedy Cellar in NYC to test the waters, but now he’s announced a short run of show in September.   The new tour is dubbed ‘Working Out New Material Tour’ (very original) and will kick off today in Charleston, SC and will continue on to shows in Knoxville and Chattanooga.

The third season of his smash Netflix series ‘Master of None’ is set to start filming whenever ready.  Cindy Holland, Programming Director of Netflix said “We certainly have given some thought to it,” she added. “We certainly would be happy to make another season of Master of None with Aziz.”

Fellow comic, Louis C.K., also has been a centerpiece of the #MeToo movement, and has begun reigniting his career. He recently dropped in for an announced show at the Comedy Cellar, though one joke that mentioned a rape whistle didn’t sit well with some audience members.  Read the room, Louis.  For real.
