The Last Waltz Tour 2019 to feature Warren Hayes, Don Was, Lukas Nelson

Exciting concert announcement, jam band fans!  Happening this fall, Robbie Roberston and his his son Sebastian, and Keith Wortman of Blackbird Presents will team up with Gov’t Mule fontman Warren Haynes, Jamey Johnson and Lukas Nelson for an incredible U.S. tour to honor The Band’s iconic 1876 farewell concert The Last Waltz.  The first of the 12-day tour will kick off Nov. 5 in Port Chester, NY and will wrap up Nov. 21 in Chicago, IL.  They will also stop in Boston, Washington D.C., Philadelphia and St. Louis.  Special guests on tour will be John Medeski, Cyril Neville, Dave Malone of The Radiators, Bob Margolin, Don Was, Terence Higgins and Mark Mullins & The Levee Horns.

In 2017, Robertson and Blackbird arranged a 40th anniversary tour for The Last Waltz. That trek also featured Hayes, Medeski, Higgins, and Johnson, as well as Michael McDonald. The original took place Nov. 25, 1976 with Ronnie Hawkins and Bob Dylan and many more.   special film of that iconic Thanksgiving performance was released 2 years later and to some, is considered one of the greatest concert films of all time.
