The Naked and Famous Plan Simple Forms 2016 tour

The Naked and Famous recently released their third album, “Simple Forms” and will be hitting the road in support of it.  The tour will kick off in Sept. 21 in Tuscon, AZ and will wrap up in Nov. 30 in Oakland, CA.  In total, there will be 30 dates in this tour and they will also visit other cities like Las Vegas, Chicago, NYC, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., Atlanta, Nashville and Dallas.  They’ll also head north to Vancouver and Toronto.  The brother/sister duo, XYLO will be joining them on tour.  Fans can also check out The Naked and Famous at Austin City Limits.

The Naked and Famous will released their newest album, ‘Simple Forms” on Oct. 16 via Somewhat Damaged.  Their last album, “In Rolling Waves” was released in 2013.  After the album release and tour, they took a brief hiatus where two of the key members of the group broke up and threatened the future of the band.  Thom Powers and fellow band member Alisa Xayalith thankfully patched things up.The New Zealand synthpop band has won

In a statement to Consequence of Sound, Xayalith spoke about the lead single “Higher”:

“It’s been two years since we came off the road and a lot of life has happened in and all around us. We’ve been broken here and picked ourselves up again — so maybe this chorus talk a little to that experience…love, grief, time passing and returning to a place where we are lucky to have each other.”
