Kurt Vile Announces 2018 North American Tour

Influenced by some of my favorite bands Pavement, Neil Young, Tom Petty, and John Fahey: Indie rocker Kurt Vile just announced a big North American tour late fall.  The first of 17 shows will kick off Nov. 24 in Boston, MA and will wrap up Dec. 22 in Chicago, IL.  He will also travel to Brooklyn, Washington D.C., Dallas, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Seattle and Vancouver.  Joining him on tour will be his back up band The Violators and special guest Jessica Pratt.  Before this tour kicks off, the American singer-songwriter will be on a lengthy tour in Europe.

Vile will be on tour to support his latest album, ‘b’lieve I’m goin down’ which was released in 2015. The solo album peaked at the #40 spot on the Billboard 200.  In 2017, he teamed up with Courtney Barnett on their collaboration album, ‘Lotta Sea Lice.’  Vile’s 2009 album, ‘Childish Prodigy’ was when he first teamed up with his backing band The Violators. Kurt Vile was the former lead guitarist for the band The War on Drugs.
