It has just been announced that the Chicago-based, punk rock band, Rise Against
(not to be confused with the band Against Me!), will be heading out on a world tour this fall. This tour will be in support of their newest album, “The Black Market,” which is set to be released on July 15th. Joining Rise Against on tour will be Touche Amore and Radkeywill. The North American portion of the tour will kick off Sept. 9 in St. Paul, MN and wrap up Oct. 5 in St. Petersburg, FL. Other cities to be visited include Oakland, St. Louis, NYC, Boston, Atlanta, Orlando and more! Immediately following their North American leg, Rise Against will be touring Europe withPennywise
and Emily’s Army.
Rise Against is made up by Tim McIlrath, Joe Principe, Brandon Barnes and Zach Blair. They have six studio albums under their belts including “Te Unraveling” which was released in 2001, “Revolutions Per Minute” in 2003, “Siren Song of the Counter Culture” in 2004, “The Sufferer and the Witnesss” in 2006, “Appeal to Reason” in 2008 and “Endgame in 2011.
Fun fact, Rise Against is very active in progressive organizations and animal rights groups like Amnesty International, It Gets Better Project, PETA and most of the band members are straight edge and vegetarian.
