Queens of the Stone Age Plan Villains Tour

One of my most favorite alt rock band of the last 20 years just announced a huge new tour.  Woot!   Queens of the Stone Age just dropped the news that they’ll be hitting the road later this year in support of their newest album, “Villains.”  This is a world tour and will kick off Sept. 6 in Port Chester, NY for the first of 20 shows and will conclude on Oct. 24 in New York City, NY.  They’ll also travel to Philadelphia, Toronto, Chicago (for Riot Fest), Detroit, and Washington D.C.  Special guests, Royal Blood, will be joining Queens of the Stone Age on tour.  After the North American leg, the band will cross the pond for a European leg of their tour.

Queens of the Stone Age plan to release their newest and seventh album, “Villains” later this summer on Aug. 25 via Matador Records.  Their last album, “Like Clockwork” was released in 2013 and peaked at the #1 spot on the Billboard 200 and was nominated for Best Rock Album at the Grammy Awards in 2014.  The band is currently made up of Josh Homme, Troy Van Leeuwen, Dean Fertita, Michael Shuman and Jon Theodore.  But, let’s all take a moment and remember back in the early days when Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters)was the drummer.  Oh Dave, how I love you!
