Shinedown Plans 2017 Summer Tour with Brent Smith
One of the hottest names in rock just announced a new tour. Shinedown and Brent Smith will be hitting the road in support of their newest album, “Threat to Survival.” The tour will kick off July 2 near Chicago, IL and will wrap up July 21 in Waterloo, NY. They will also be playing at a number of summer musical festivals including Summerfest in Milwaukee and Common Ground Festival in Lansing, MI and the Rise Above Fest in Bangor, ME. Singer-songwriter Lacey Sturm will join them on tour. Prior to this tour, Shinedown toured along the west coast with special guests As Lions and Cold Kingdown. This fall, they will be the opening act for the European leg of Iron Maiden‘s tour.
Shinedown released their latest album, “Threat to Survival” a couple years ago in August of 2015 via Atlantic Records. It peaked at the #6 spot on the Billboard 200 and includes the hits “Cut the Cord”, “State of My Head”, and “How Did You Love.” In February 2017, lead singer, Brent Smith, announced that they had begun work on a sixth studio album. Bass player Eric Bass has been working on writing 22 separate pieces of music over the course of their 2016 touring, separate from the rest of the band, who wanted to just concentrate on touring. Shinedown has sold more than 6 million albums worldwide.
