Eric Clapton Announces Limited Engagement Tour

It can’t be that big of a surprise that Eric Clapton is hinting at retirement. However, after 57 years in the biz, the rock legend just announced a small ‘limited engagement’ tour that will happen this September with stops in San Francisco, Las Vegas and Phoenix.  Joining Clapton on tour will be hit backing band consisting of Doyle Bramhall II, Paul Carrack, Nathan East, Steve Gadd, Chris Stainton, Sharon White and Katie Kissoon.  This September, fans can also check him out at his fifth annual Crossroads Guitar Festival in Dallas featuring John Mayer, Gary Clark Jr., Jeff Beck, Peter Frampton, Buddy Guy and Sheryl Crow.  Clapton’s hearing continues to deteriorate at a rapid rate making it hard for him to perform live.  READ BETWEEN THE LINES!  See him now.

In 2018, he released his first Christmas album, ‘Happy Xmas’ which quickly reached the top spot on the Billboard Holiday Chart.  His previous album, ‘I Still Do’ includes new materials in addition to classic songs interpreted in his own way.  Clapton began his career in 1962, he has seen won 18 Grammy Awards, and has thrice been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for solo artist and separately as a member of the Yardbirds and of Cream. Clapton has been referred to as one of the most important and influential guitarists of all time
