Smashing Pumpkins Unplugged Tour!

I would feel it would be a major disservice, mostly to myself as a 90’s alt. rock lover, if this solo tour went unmentioned.  I LOVE 90’s alt. rock.  If you think of it, there are generally three bands that come to mind; Pearl Jam, Nirvana and Smashing Pumpkins.  Well….The Smashing Pumpkins :: Billy Corgan and new band ::cough:: just announced they will be heading out on the road for their very first acoustic theater tour across the states.  The tour is fairly short, about eight shows, and is dubbed “Plainsong- An Acoustic-Electro Evening.”  The tour will kick off prior to the big The End Times tour with Marilyn Manson on June 15 in Buffalo, NY and will wrap up June 25 in Minneapolis, MN.  Fans can expect to hear songs from the entire Pumpkins catalog and even songs from Corgan’s Zwan days.

The Smashing Pumpkins are pushing hard to support their newest album, “Monuments to an Elegy” which was released on Dec. 5, 2014.  That album reached the #33 spot on the Billboard 200.

I’ve been lucky enough to see The Pumpkins perform a couple times at the Metro in Chicago, and let me tell you, they are a delight live.  I can only imagine how cool an acoustic set would be. See below for all upcoming Smashing Pumpkins shows:
