Zac Brown Band: Great American Road Trip Tour

Zac Brown Band has a lot of exciting announcements lately.  They’re releasing a new single, adding a new band member and will be heading out on a massive summer tour.

ZBB’s new single is titled, “All Alright”.  Fun fact, the single is from their newest album “The Grohl Sessions, Vol. 1.”  If that name rings a bell, it’s because Dave Grohl, of the Foo Fighters, produced the album.  I think that’s pretty cool.  Love me some Grohl.  Grohl said of ZBB,  “I swear to God, if I weren’t in my band, I would be in this f-ing band….I don’t know if I am good enough, though.” The track was co-written by Eric Church, who had equal words of praise for Brown & Co., saying “The great thing about Zac Brown Band is the music comes from a real place. It’s not formulaic, it’s not manufactured. It’s a spontaneous living breathing thing. Yes, it’s different. Yes, it’s adventurous. But most important of all, it’s just damn good.”

Their newest band member is bass player Matt Mangano.  Mangano was formerly part of John Mayer’s act.  He has performed with ZBB in the past and is featured on their new album, as well as their 2013 album, “Uncaged.”  No one is being dropped from the band, but John Dirskell will be filling other rolls and playing different instruments going forward.

Their summer tour, “The Great American Road Trip.” will kick off May 24 in Lincoln, NE.  The highlight of their tour includes a two-night sold out event at Fenway Park in Boston.  The only other acts to do the same include Bruce Springsteen,Jimmy Buffett, The Police and The Rolling Stones.  Opening for ZBB will be Kacey Musgraves.
