Romeo Santos: Artist to Watch

The proclaimed king of Bachata, Romeo Santos, is hitting the airwaves and the stages in a big way this summer.  He recently announced via a press conference that he will perform at Yankee Stadium on July 12, the day before his newest album, “Formula, Vol. 2” is released.  Of special note, this will be the first Latin Music show at Yankee Stadium since Fania All Stars performed their legendary show in 1976.  Santos is hot, hot, hot right now, he should have no problems filling the stadium, as he was able to sell more than 18,000 seats to each of his three Madison Square Garden shows on his last tour, “Formula, Vol. 1.”

Santos said at a press conference about playing in the new venue, “It is truly an honor. It’s a huge responsibility.”

The new Yankee Stadium has had such amazing acts like Paul McCartney, Madonna and Jay Z with Justin Timberlake take the stage.  Santos will be in good company!

In other Santos news, his single, “Odio” (feat. Drake) is reigning supreme at the No. 1 spot on the Hot Latin Songs for the third week in a row.  Another single, “Propuesta Indecente” held the top spot for four weeks.  His album “Formula, Vol. 1” went triple-platinum and held an impressive 17 weeks at the top spt on Top Latin Albums.

On his new album coming out this summer, there are plenty of superstars that Santos is collaborating with including Marc Anthony, Nicki Minaj (who will be singing in Spanish!), Carlos Santana and Kevin Hart.
