Grateful Dead to Reunite for 3-Day Concert in Chicago!

peace-496093_1280BREAKING MUSIC NEWS!!!  For this first time in over 20 years, Grateful Dead will be returning to Chicago!  The San Francisco based band is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the band’s formation.  They will mark the occasion with a three show line up at Chicago’s Solder Field on July 3, 4 and 5.

While legendary guitarist, Jerry Garcia, passed away in 1995, the four remaining members will take to the stage.  Mickey Hart, Bill Kreutzmann, Phil Lesh and Bob Weir, along with Phish’s Trey Anastasio and Bruce Hornsby will help bring the iconic Dead back to life.

“The Dead” got their start back in 1965 in San Francisco during the city’s emerging rock ‘n’ roll scene.  Other bands to come from similar starts include Jefferson Airplane, Big Brother and the Holding Company and the Charlatans.  The Grateful Dead had a HUGE cult following called the Deadheads who followed them around on their epic, never-ending tours.  Other fairly large jam bands have following in the Deads wake, like Dave Matthews Band, Widespread Panic,  Umphrey’s McGee, String Cheese Incident, Phish and Rat Dog, but they can’t quite hold a candle to the originals.

Lesh said in a news release, “It is with respect and gratitude that we reconvene the Dead one last time to celebrate — not merely the band’s legacy, but also the community that we’ve been playing to, and with, for 50 years. Wave that flag, wave it wide and high.”

These shows will be epic.  DO NOT MISS THESE SHOWS.  You can buy passes to individual shows or for a three-day pass.
