Taylor Swift Huge Album Release
In case you’ve been living under a rock lately. The very talented and popular, Taylor Swift, just released her newest album on Monday, titled “1989.” Swift had her doubters. Early estimates thought that she would only sell about 750,000 copies in one week. Why anyone would think otherwise is insane. It now seems likely that she will sell well over a million copies, just as her previous two albums have done. Truth be told, I’ll probably also be one of those to buy a copy.
Keith Caufield, associate director of charts at Billboard said, “Fans really feel they have a connection with Swift, and want to have the full experience, so to speak, by buying the ‘1989’ album. Fans feel like Swift is their BFF.”
If Swift achieves this feat of selling over a million copies in one week, she will be the only act ever to have three albums hit a million in a single week.
In preparation for the release of her newest album, Swift has been busy, busy, busy this with appearances on TV, including The Voice, Late Show With David Letterman, The View, Good Morning America and The Talk. She has also been taking Twitter and Intstagram by storm, playing private sessions for small groups while serving rice crispie treats, and appearing in commercials for Diet Coke and Target.
Fans are loving her new album. Given the huge response for album, it’s a guarantee that a tour announcement is just around the corner. This tour will be HUGE. It’s possible that this tour will be bigger and better than her last tour in support of “Red.”
