Don’t Mess With Ariana Grande
Truth be told, I just kind of figured that Ariana Grande was just another pop-tart. A vain, vapid shell of a person similar to the persona her brother, Frankie Grande, gave off on Big Brother 6 last summer. Much to my pleasant surprise, that girl has a voice. A strong voice. A voice for the ladies. A voice against the wrong. Right on, lady!
Last week, Grande took social media by storm, via Instagram, Facebook and Twitter with an essay on the misogynistic views of society after there was speculation of romance between her and One Direction’s Niall Horan. She wrote, “I come from a long bloodline of female activists. My aunt Judy was the first Italian American female president of the National Press Club in Washington D.C. I think she would have been proud of me for speaking up about something that has been bothering me personally for so long.”
Ms. Grande has a tour that will kick of July 16 in Tampa, FL and will wrap up Oct. 15 in El Paso, TX. Prince Royce will be joining her on tour. This tour is dubbed The Honeymoon Tour and his her second world tour and will continue to support her second album, My Everything.Check out her full essay on the women’s inequality below. Bravo!
