Nickel Creek recently announced a full tour schedule that will keep the bluegrass group busy for the remainder on the year.  Their tour will kick off Sept. 30 in South Burlington, VT and will wrap up Dec. 17 in L.A., CA.  Nickel Creek will also be one of the first acts to play at the brand new Nokia Theatre Times Square in New York.

This tour is in support of their soon-to-be-released album, “Why Should The Fire Die?”  The new album will be released Aug. 9.  Included on the new album will be a cover of Bob Dylan’s “Tomorrow is a Long Time”.

Chris Thile of Nickel Creek said to Billboard.com, “In terms of songwriting, we subjected ourselves to a lot more in-house criticism before Eric and Tony even got the material.  On records past, [guitarist] Sean [Watkins] and I had just brought in material that was pretty much finished. We were not terribly interested in hearing anything other than ‘no’ or ‘yes’ from the other members of the band. But this time, a lot of choruses were changed. A lot of structures were altered.”
