Widespread Panic Releases 2015 Summer Concert Dates

Perhaps the biggest current jam band on the scene right now, Widespread Panic, just announced their summer tour dates.  Joining WP on tour will be progressive jammers, Umphrey’s McGee.  The tour will kick off on June 6 in Lewiston, NY and will wrap up June 28 in Morrison, CO.  Some of their stops along the way include Boston, Pittsburgh, San Antonio, Louisville, Columbia and more.  They are currently on a spring tour throughout March and April in big markets like Seattle, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Washington D.C. and others.   If seeing them on tour isn’t good enough for their rapid fan base, fans can also check them out at a number of festivals like New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, Summer Camp Music Festival or the Wanee Music Festival.

Last year, much like the year before, spent most of the year on the road and visited most of the major and minor cities throughout the country.  The seven-piece band is known as a jam band, but they also include sounds of blues rock, progressive rock, jazz fusion, funk and rock.  Widespread is made up of John Bell, John JoJo Herman, Todd Nance, Domingo S. Ortiz, Dave Schools and Jimmy Herring.  They have sold over 3 millions albums since they got their start in 1986.  OMG, I bet most of their current fans weren’t even born when they first formed.  They have released 11 studio albums and eight live albums.  Their last album was released in 2010, “Dirty Side Down.”
