Shawn Mendes Announces Self-Titled 2019 World Tour

Big pop music news!!  Rising mega-star Shawn Mendes recently announced an enormous 2019 world tour to support his new self-titled album. Special guest and Grammy-award winning singer Alessia Cara will join on as support. The first stop on the North American leg kicks off June 12 in Portland, OR and will wrap up Aug. 24 in Brooklyn, NY.   In total there will be 49 shows including Chicago, Dallas, Miami, L.A., Miami, Atlanta in the states and Vancouver, Edmonton, Winnipeg and Montreal in Canada.  Before the North American leg, Mendes will touring across Europe in the spring.

Shawn Mendes released his self-titled album in May of 2018 via Island Records.  It is his third album.  His 2016 album, ‘Illuminate’ climbed all the way to #1 on the Billboard 200 and received 3 nominations at the 2017 Juno Awards.  The same year, he really got his name on the map doing a giant world tour.  In 2015, he and Vance Joy were the opening acts for Taylor Swift’s ‘The 1989 World Tour.’
