Metallica Drops News of WorldWired Tour 2017
It’s been a long eight years for die-hard Metallica fans, now the hard rock folks can rejoice. After last night’s Grammy Awards show, Metallica announced a new North American tour in support of their latest album, “Hardwired…to Self-Destruct.” The tour is dubbed the “WorldWired Tour 2017 ” and will kick off on May 10 in Baltimore, MD and will wrap up Aug. 16 in Edmonton, AB. Some of the other stops along the way in the United States include Philadelphia, Dallas, Chicago, Atlanta, Detroit and Los Angeles. They will also travel North to Quebec City, Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver. Special guests Avenged Sevenfold, Volbeat and Gojira will join Metallica on tour.
Metallica released their tenth studio album, “Hardwired…to Self Destruct” on Nov. 18 via their vanity label Blackened Recordings. On that album are the singles “Hardwired,” “Moth Into Flame” and “Atlas, Rise!” It was not surprising when that album quickly peaked at the top of the charts in 57 countries and was their sixth consecutive album to debut at the #1 spot on the Billboard 200.
